Aisling Casey


Aisling Casey is solo oboist of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and former solo oboist of the Radio Chamber Philharmonic. She studied in her hometown of Cork and in Hanover (with Klaus Becker) and was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra for several years. During her studies, she was hired as deputy principal oboist of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra/Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and moved to Amsterdam. After winning first prize at The Isle of Wight International Oboe Competition (now Barbirolli Competition), she was invited for solo performances and undertook a tour alongside violinist Nigel Kennedy through the major venues of the UK and Ireland. Casey is a musician with Splendor Amsterdam, teaches at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and is co-founder of the music company LUDWIG and the Oboe Platform.
