Ludwig on tour

A long cherished wish has become reality: we are going on tour with Igor Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. With a dreamcast of singers from Barbara Hannigan’s Equilibrium Young Artists Project, we kick off in Brussels in March, then tour Europe in May.

After that we travel to Ojai Festival in California where Barbara has been appointed Music Director for the 2019 edition. LUDWIG is Orchestra in Residence, playing loads of amazing music from dawn til dusk… And last but not least we travel to the fabulous Aldeburgh Festival (UK) to perform in Benjamin Britten’s Jubilee Hall.

‘Ludwig, a lively Dutch orchestra, will serve as the house band.’

Frederike Berntsen – Trouw , May 24, 2019

‘The young age of most of the artists on stage – from the singers of the Equilibrium team created by Hannigan herself, to the musicians of the LUDWIG collective, based in Amsterdam and with whom Hannigan recently won a Grammy Award – contributes to the freshness of the production in a semi-staged performance of overall excellence and in which the spirit of a collective work clearly emerges in which even the protagonists, when necessary, play a role of simple service to others or mere decorative filling of the scene.’
